WHY I'M RUNNING
"I am running for the school board because I wish to serve the community I love.
Twenty years ago, the thought of one day serving on the school board entered my heart. My late wife, who was called by God to teach and was a teacher in Berkeley County Schools, was dying from breast cancer. I did not tell her or anyone that I felt I would one day serve on the School Board to honor her memory.
Years later, a lot of underhanded politics was going on in Berkeley County Schools. A good friend asked me to run for School Board (Understand, I started out as a young boy in St. Stephen in a learning disability class with a speech impediment). At age 10, I was blessed to be adopted by my aunt and uncle. Teachers, coaches, and the community of Hanahan have always believed in me.
I ask the why's of what is happening in our school district. I care deeply about all 38,000 kids in our district. I fight for what is right. I humbly ask for your support and prayers."
